Oregon Coast Workshop - Nov. 2-4th, 2018
The Oregon Coast is filled with wonderful spots to photograph. The iconic ones like Cannon Beach, Thor's Well, Heceta Head Lighthouse, and so much more makes for no shortage of incredible locations to visit during the best light. Also, there are some lesser known spots without the crowds that I will be bringing you to.
November brings plenty of weather to the Pacific Northwest making for some very dramatic images of the movement in the waves and the skies filling with angry clouds. The fair weather tourists leave the coast by Fall making the best spots empty for us to take advantage of. You will also have the all of the opportunities to capture the true nature of this part of the world!
This workshop will cover both photographing landscapes in the field as well as the post-processing at home. Also, I will be teaching you how to location scout in advance of a trip in order to plan for success on any adventure regardless of the conditions. Instruction in skills like focus stacking, focal length blending, and more are included.
Any level of photographer from novice to advanced amateur will find great value in this opportunity. It will be very difficult for any photographer of any skill level to walk away with no portfolio quality images as we visit top notch spots throughout the workshop. As for your fitness level, most of the locations will be within a quarter mile or less from where you can park your car! This is by far the most friendly workshop for those who do not care for hiking.
* Payment by check and invoice options are also available - please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org for details on signing up for the workshop if this is the option you would prefer
We will be meeting on the first day of the workshop at Cannon Beach about 2 hours before sunset. It is an easy drive from Portland on the NW Sunset Highway 26 and is a short drive from a couple other locations for sunrise the next day. We will be taking advantage of all the possible good light with beautiful forests to shoot in if fog moves in and the coastline having the potential for incredible sunsets and even sunrises! Plan to pack extra batteries as we will be shooting all day as well as rain gear to keep yourself and your gear dry. The location of the last day of the workshop will be decided based on the conditions presented to us and will conclude shortly after sunset that day.
If your goal is to capture portfolio quality images this is the workshop for you! Not only are you going to be going to many five star locations, but you will be getting instruction on how to plan out your own trips to different spots and how to properly photograph them while there. I am confident that not only can I help you get great images here, but also give you the tools necessary to capture your own in the future!
