The Workshop - Aug. 10-12th, 2018
We will be visiting several awesome locations throughout the park including Tipsoo Lake, Paradise, Sunrise, and more! Not only is the entire park open at this time of the year, but it is also the peak of wildflower season where entire valleys are likely to be brimming with color and vibrance sure to make for stunning images! I am here to help you with finding great compositions for portfolio quality shots and helping to train your eye for finding them in the future.
This workshop will cover both photographing landscapes in the field as well as the post-processing at home. Also, I will be teaching you how to location scout in advance of a trip in order to plan for success on any adventure regardless of the conditions. Instruction in skills like focus stacking, focal length blending, and more are included.
Any level of photographer from novice to advanced amateur will find great value in this opportunity. Activities will be including some more strenuous hikes as we will be on the mountain. You should be in good enough shape to handle 6-8 miles of rougher terrain each day. However, there will also be several incredible locations that don't involve any hiking. We will not be going on any extreme or back country hikes on this workshop.
Seattle's airport is the closest location to fly in to from out of town. I recommend arriving the day before in order to get the most out of the experience. We will meet at Tipsoo Lake early in the morning of the first day of the workshop to capture sunrise, and the workshop will come to an end on the last day of the workshop shortly after sunset. There will be plenty of time in-between spent either scouting or inside editing images as a group and planning out the next location. The location of the last day of the workshop will be decided based on the conditions presented to us and will conclude shortly after sunset that day.
If your goal is to capture portfolio quality images this is the workshop for you! Not only are you going to be going to many five star locations, but you will be getting instruction on how to plan out your own trips to different spots and how to properly photograph them while there. I am confident that not only can I help you get great images here, but also give you the tools necessary to capture your own in the future!
